The Voices Online celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September 2023 for the fourth consecutive year by organising an interesting online gathering of some of the most respectable academicians from various parts of the world.

L.W.Hartnett, Eminent Educationist, Meenakshi Sahni, Principal of Modern School, Vasant Vihar Delhi, Joyeeta Mukherjee, Principal Mussoorie Public School, Kanak Gupta, Director- Seth M.R.Jaipuria Schools, Dr Deborshi Barat, Editor of Voices Online and Ruhail Choudhury, Eminent Corporate Lawyer who also specialises in Child Welfare from Harvard University and many others were present. Tathagata Chowdhury, an Internationally reputed theatre personality and a popular teacher was the moderator of the event.

Kalyani Patnaik, Principal of Hiranandani Foundation School, Mumbai was the special guest of honour and announced the names of the recipients of Dr. Radhakrishnan Award for 2023.

Rebecca Gould, Theatre Director from London, Dr. Mijanur Rahman, professor at American University of Iraq from Baghdad, Geetika Chandra, Principal of DPS Rajpura, Priscilla Dawn Kerr, a very popular and respected teacher from Pratt Memorial School, Kolkata and Anamika Ghosh, revolutionary educationist from The British School, New Delhi were felicitated with the prestigious award.

The English language is a globally accepted language that unites and connects people across the world and William Shakespeare is undoubtedly one of the most popular and celebrated writers who immensely contributed to the widespread popularity of the language, therefore Voices Online tried to popularize the idea of celebrating William Shakespeare Day in India by organizing an online event on 23rd April 2023,
by inviting Principals, Teachers and students of schools from various cities in India.

Eminent Educationists like Mr L.W. Hartnett, Mr John Bagul, Ms Kalyani Patnaik, Ms Joeeta Basu and many others participated in the event. The event was moderated by well-known English theatre actor and director Tathagata Chowdhury and Prof. Deborshi Barat.

United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Antonio Guterres appreciated and shared his good wishes to The Voices Online team for the initiatives to spread peace and friendship across the world.

On 29th September, The Voices Online had organized an online event to bring some of the legends from the teaching fraternity together to discuss some extremely important and interesting aspects of the teaching profession. Mr.L.W.Hartnett, eminent Educationists, Ms.Sunita Sen Principal of The BSS school, Mr.John Bagul, Principal of South City International School, Ms.Joeeta Basu, Senior Teacher St.Xaviers Collegiate School, Mr.KanK Gupta, Director Seth M R Jaipuria group of schools, and Prof. Deborshi Barat of Jindal University shared their insightful thoughts and ideas.

The discussion was moderated by Ms.Jayeeta Ganguly.

Advocate Ruhail Choudhury, the founder of The voices online, perhaps had this thought, when he considered to join a team who were determined to treasure the innocence of those children who smile despite the odds they face. Treasures Of Innocence is an NGO that works with children from neighboring slums in Garia. The Voices Online had partnered with Sonali, proprietor of  The Wisdom Tree to start the new year by gifting a good time to some of these children. Actor Moubani Sorcar, literally created magic, not just with few tricks but live singing and genuine smiles as she entertained the children. Aritro, a young musician, conducted an impromptu guitar workshop which added the dose of music to complete such an outing.

Tathagata Chowdhury, a reputed theatre personality and a core team member of The Voices Online gifted a laptop to the children from the NGO to ensure that the children are not deprived from their online education opportunities.

Despite busy schedule and possible party plans, the gifted shared the gifts with those who perhaps dream of such gifts from a distance. May 2021 see privileges distributed and innocence treasured.
